Kassidy Hammond

An RVA lover with a knack for all things digital.

As a multi-platform story weaver, I specialize in photography and videography as well as writing and reporting; skills put to work every day within my roles as Digital Content Producer and Social and Site Distribution Producer at ABC 8News.

While at 8News, I held the title of Top Author across the newsroom routinely during my time as a Content Producer, consistently growing pageviews and impact across articles while successfully utilizing SEO practices. As a Social and Site Distribution Producer I planned, managed and executed marketing strategies for day-to-day reporting and special events across all social platforms.

In addition, as a communications and engagement intern for Crocker Strategies and a creative mind for Liza Pruitt Gallery, I have gained tremendous industry know-how within the social media and marketing sector.

As a Broadcast Journalism graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, I have a significant and successful background in print and online journalism, news-style writing, and MMJ-style reporting in styles ranging from short 2-minute newscasts to 13-minute mini-documentaries.

I have produced and edited an award-winning documentary, “Stuck In Stone”. The film won first place in two categories in the 2019 Poe Film Festival Pro Film Awards in Richmond: “Best Documentary Film” and “Best College Film.”
